A Snapshot Of The Blood-stained King

Post by Pastor QT » Mon Mar 25, 2013 1:26 pm

Who is this coming from Edom, from Bozrah, with his garments stained in crimson? Who is this robed in splendour, striding forward in the greatness of his strength?

“It is I speaking in righteousness, mighty to save.”

Why are your garments red, like those of one treading the winepress?

“I have trodden the winepress alone; from the nations no one was with me. I have trampled them in my anger. And trod them down in my wrath; their blood splattered my garments, and I stained all my clothing. For the day of vengeance was in my heart, and the year of my redemption has come.

I looked, but there was no one to help, I was appalled that no one gave support; so my own arm worked salvation for me, and my own wrath sustained me. I trampled the nations in my anger; in my wrath I made them drunk and poured their blood on the ground.
Isaiah 63v1-6

In Isaiah 63v1-6, the prophet speaks of a blood-stained King coming back from vanquishing His enemies in battle. The king in question is the Lord Jesus who defeated all his enemies through his death and resurrection. What can we learn from this brutal but beautiful passage?

• The blood in question is not our Lord’s own blood but that of the defeated enemy; you don’t have to bleed in torment, the enemy is the one who is supposed to bleed.

• Since blood stands for life, the enemy is now lifeless since his blood has been poured on the ground; don’t be afraid of the dead enemy, just stand your ground behind the victorious blood-stained King.

• The King is robed in splendour; our Lord is so strikingly beautiful that those who have seen Him fumble in vain for correct vocabulary to accurately describe Him.

• The King is striding forward in the greatness of His strength; King Jesus is unstoppable!

• The King is mighty to save; His power is sufficient to rescue you from any situation.

• The King has trod the winepress alone; only Jesus qualified to decisively tread on the enemy once and for all.

• The King overcame the enemies by himself (my own arm worked salvation for me) with no one’s support; salvation is only by grace through faith, no one can save himself through his own effort or works.

• The King proclaims, “”The year of my redemption has come!”; you don’t have to stay bound, the time of your freedom has come!

Thank God for the victorious blood-stained King Jesus, whose garments are splattered with the enemy’s blood!

P/S Let me suggest that the only blood on our Lord’s clothes is the enemy’s not His own because His own precious blood was offered to the Father as an atoning sacrifice for our sins.
I love you with bondage-breaking love!
