And I hold the keys of death and Hades. (Rev 1:18 ). why did Jesus go and set the captives free in hell, if we are to stay in hell for entreaty?
What about the three sacrifices speak of the three-fold death of Christ—his physical death, his spiritual death, and his soulish death? I believe it is in (Lev 16:5) _________________ ~Sky~ |

Revelation 1:18
"Behold, I hold the keys to death and hades"
Jesus has the keys of Hades and of Death, having control over both and uniquely able to raise the dead. Hades here stands for the soul and Death for the body. When a person dies, the soul is in Hades, a name used to describe the disembodied state. The body goes to the grave. For the believer the disembodied state is the same as being present with the Lord. At the resurrection, the soul is reunited with the glorified body and raptured (caught up) to the Father’s house.
I am not 100% sure on as to why Jesus went to Hell to release captives. I would have to study more on the subject. But I believe it was talking about how he went and set the captives free, those that had died before the ressurection after he died on the cross.
As far as the Verse in Leviticus 16:5, I would have to study some more. But maybe there is someone else on here who knows right off the top of their head about that scripture.
I hope I was of some help to you. _________________ Hell fights you for what Heaven calls you! |

The question: Will the unsave be in hell for ever???
The answer from God's Word:
"Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink..."
"He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord and from the majesty of his power." _________________ "For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves..." |
